Purpose
Remotely access and manage your BMR devices from anywhere.
Description
Cloud Manage allows you to manage your local backup and restore operations from anywhere, without the hassle of setting up a VPN connection. By default, Cloud Manage is enabled for your account.
Remotely access your BMR devices
To connect to your BMR devices from an external / internal network,
- Go to www.idrive.com and Sign in with your BMR account credentials.
- Go to the 'All BMR Devices' tab. The devices associated with your account are displayed.
If any of the devices appear offline, clickto update the status.
Note: The refresh option is displayed only for IDrive BMR version 8.4.0 and above. - Click 'Connect' against the required device. Browser-based access to the device web interface is launched via a new tab.
Note: In the case of BMR devices with firmware version 8.3.0 or older, access to the device web interface is established via a remote access window.
- Remotely manage local backup operations, create restore points, view logs and backup statistics, configure device settings, and monitor the health of the OS drive and RAID array drives.
Click on the 'Cloud Replication' button to view the cloud replication statuses. You can also view and manage the cloud backup recovery points of individual physical and VMware machines on the BMR device.
Edit the name of the BMR device
To edit and update your BMR device name,
- Sign in to IDrive with your IDrive BMR credentials.
- Go to the 'All BMR Devices' tab and click
against the required BMR device.
- Provide a new name for the device in the pop-up and click 'Update'.
Remotely administer device operations
Once connected to the BMR device, you can:
- Schedule backups of physical and virtual machines on the BMR device
- Manage cloud replication settings for your device
- Schedule cloud replications of the backups on the device
- Initiate immediate incremental / full image backup
- Create file-level recovery for backed-up physical and virtual machines
- Create virtual instances of backed-up physical and virtual machines
- Manage BMR device and backup notifications
- Configure mail server, network, and DNS server settings
Cloud manage for partner
If the BMR device is purchased through a reseller, the reseller will have access to your BMR device with automatic login through the Partner Management portal, to assist you with various administrative functions.
To disable this access, navigate to 'Settings' > 'Control Panel' > 'Partner Manage' and move the slider toggle to read 'Disabled'.
